January Roundup

We would like to say a huge welcome to all of the new ECTs and Mentors who have joined us in January 2022 in the January cohort. Although the live delivery for all participants in the January cohort will be delivered by Education Development Trust’s central team, we are very much part of your ECF journey and will be supporting you as you complete your weekly self-study and training within your schools.

In January, we hosted our Regional Events for both ECTs and Mentors and these were a huge success; even though they were virtual and not in person as we had hoped! It was fantastic to engage in detailed discussions with teachers and leaders from all settings and phases with our expert facilitators. Evaluations were incredibly positive and showed us how much ECTs and Mentors enjoyed and engaged in their training day. We do hope that we will be seeing you in person very soon! Regardless of your cohort start date, please keep a check on the ‘Events’ part of your dashboard and book your next local group session or regional event once it is available.

We are aware schools are employing new teachers (including ECTs) all of the time and therefore look forward to supporting school leaders, ECTs and Mentors at the April start date – after Easter. Please get in touch with us if you are planning on employing new Early Career Teachers to start in Summer term and we can support you with making a choice for the ECF and registering for the Full Induction Programme if you choose to do so.

We want to say a huge well done to ECTs and Mentors for the resilience, commitment and enthusiasm they have shown to the profession and the children and young people in their settings so far this year. It has been challenging for all schools and teachers but you are doing an amazing job!
