Appropriate Body

The Northern Lights Teaching School Hub provide AB services to meet the needs of our region across all phases and settings.

Contact us: appropriatebody@nllt.co.uk

We are school led and as a provider of the Early Career Framework, we have the understanding of the Appropriate Body role in the new education landscape as well as recognising and ensuring that through our role, school schools are maintaining fidelity to the ECF. All schools that offer a statutory induction are required to have an Appropriate Body for their Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to ensure they are accessing all aspects of the Early Career Framework and progressing towards meeting all Teachers’ Standards.

We are an Appropriate Body for all school types; nursery schools, infants, juniors, primary, secondary, mainstream, independent, specialist, alternate provision and post 16. If you are unsure if your setting fits into any of these categories then please contact us and we can discuss it further with you.

As an Appropriate Body, we can oversee the induction of schools who are following each of the 3 ECF routes as well as supporting Part-Time and Full-Time ECTs in varying roles. The Welcome Webinar below will explain the above and support you in making the best decision for your ECT and your school.
